Volleyball Recap: Minnechaug Regional Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Minnechaug Regional dropped to 11-2 on Wednesday, ending the team's 12-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longmeadow Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Minnechaug Regional's offense was headlined by Anna O'Toole and Nehir Elcin, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Cora Pace and her 24 assists. Haley Powers controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Longmeadow, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 2, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Longmeadow can attribute much of their success to Tess Tonsing, who had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Tonsing has posted since back in September.

Minnechaug Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Frontier Regional on the 6th. As for Longmeadow, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Agawam on the 6th.
