Basketball Recap: Seton Catholic Central Knights vs. Chazy Eagles
Seton Catholic Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 55-35 to the Chazy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-28 back in December of 2024.
Despite the loss, Seton Catholic Central still got an impressive performance from Grace Trombley, who posted 18 points and eight boards. That was a full 51.4% of Seton Catholic Central's points, marking the fifth time in a row Trombley has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Monique Allen, who scored seven points.
Chazy was led to victory by Emma Howell and Kaelyn Rentas. Howell had 21 points, while Rentas almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Rentas a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Turek, who earned ten points and three blocks.
Seton Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Chazy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
