Softball Recap: Esperanza Takes a Loss

Esperanza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pacifica Mariners. That's two games in a row now that the Aztecs have lost by just one run.

Esperanza saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Modrell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Esperanza's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Pacifica, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Coincidentally, Esperanza and Pacifica will both be playing El Modena the next time they take the field. The Aztecs will host the Vanguards at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mariners will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
