Basketball Recap: Moore Catholic Comes Up Short

Moore Catholic fought the good fight in their overtime contest against St. Peter on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 74-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Peter's Eagles. The Mavericks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

St. Peter's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Malcolm Ford Jr out in front who went 8 for 14 en route to 23 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Ford Jr is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Talib Martin was another key player, going 8 of 13 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and five assists.

Moore Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for St. Peter's, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Moore Catholic has already played their next matchup (against Salesian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Peter's will head out on the road to challenge Christ the King at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
