Papillion-LaVista South had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Gretna on Saturday. Papillion-LaVista South put the hurt on Gretna with a sharp 12-4 victory. The Titans not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024.

Cordell Clinkingbeard and Matthew Gorman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Clinkingbeard struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Gorman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Clinkingbeard fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4, while Gorman went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two home runs gave Clinkingbeard a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cameron Curtis was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emmett Minderman, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Papillion-LaVista South's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
