Soccer Recap: Franklin Makes It Three in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greensville County, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Sussex Central Tigers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Franklin needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Their offense was hitting Sussex Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Ayden Branch led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Franklin pushed their record up to 6-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three matchups. As for Sussex Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Southampton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin's defense better be ready for this one: Southampton have averaged an impressive 3.8 goals per game this season. Sussex Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
