Softball Recap: Hughesville Spartans vs. Warrior Run Defenders
Hughesville hadn't done well against Warrior Run recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Spartans walked away with a 6-2 win over the Defenders. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 13-12 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Ella Breneisen and Maddie Smith were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Breneisen pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
