Baseball Game Preview: Claiborne Academy Rebels vs. Junction City Dragons

The Claiborne Academy Rebels will face off against the Junction City Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Claiborne Academy will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run two weeks ago, then bounced right back against River Oaks last Tuesday. Claiborne Academy blew past River Oaks 14-7.

Meanwhile, Junction City gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Everything went their way against Harmony Grove as Junction City made off with a 12-5 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Dragons as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Caden Sims made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Sims was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Junction City got a massive performance out of Joe Thompson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Cameron Davis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Claiborne Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Junction City, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
