Preview: Yorktown Tigers vs. Anderson Indians
The Yorktown Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Anderson Indians at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Yorktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
Last Friday, Yorktown beat Greenwood by the very same score they won with last week: 47-41. Given Yorktown's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Greenwood is ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kieran Tewari, who scored 13 points along with six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Mason Moulton, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Anderson's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Noblesville, falling 67-40. Anderson has struggled against Noblesville recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Yorktown now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Anderson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-1.
Yorktown was able to grind out a solid win over Anderson in their previous meeting back in January of 2015, winning 58-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yorktown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
