Triton had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 40-point drubbing they dealt Smithfield-Selma on Wednesday. The Hawks blew past the Spartans 44-4. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Nashara McNeil-Watlington had another great game (as she tends to do), shooting 67% from the field on her way to 24 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Triton's points. Amoria McBryde was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Triton was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Triton back to even at 2-2. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
