Basketball Recap: Claymont Takes a Loss

Claymont lost against Hiland back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Claymont Mustangs were beaten by the Hiland Hawks 70-38. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 639th, while the Hawks are ranked fourth).

Claymont has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Hiland, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Claymont will head out to square off against Indian Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hiland, they will head out on the road to face off against Triway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
