Softball Recap: Childress Wins Going Away Against Canadian

Childress barely beat Canadian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-1 win on Thursday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by ten runs or more this season.

Ansley Parr made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 23 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Journey Prince was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Jaycee Lepe was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Childress always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Childress and bumps their season record up to 14-11-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Canadian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.

As of now, neither Childress nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
