Basketball Recap: Pacifica Finds Playoff Glory Versus Maranatha Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Pacifica rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They snuck past the Maranatha Christian Eagles with a 55-50 win.

When it comes to explaining why Maranatha Christian lost, don't look at Will Ralston. Despite the final result, he shot 60% from the field on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds. The game was Ralston's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Shane Piester, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and six assists.

Pacifica is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. Maranatha Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-16.

Coming up, Pacifica will head out to challenge Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pacifica will be up against Grant's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.91 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Maranatha Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
