Basketball Recap: Glory Ellis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Muncie Burris

There's no place like home for Union, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 42-33 victory over the Muncie Burris Owls on Monday. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 42-17 win the Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2019.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Glory Ellis, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzy Ogden, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points in addition to five steals and three blocks.

Muncie Burris lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sydney Jackson, who posted 13 points and six steals. That was a full 39.4% of Muncie Burris' points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Anna Murray was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Union's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Muncie Burris, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Union didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 32-30 defeat against Centerville on the 28th. Muncie Burris has also already played their next game, a 58-36 loss against Muncie Central on the 29th.
