The Westbrook Wildcats are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Trent Gorillas at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Westbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Westbrook was handed a 16-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past Hamlin 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Katie Salazar was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Zoey Alvarez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Westbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Trent unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Baird on Thursday, falling 23-9. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Westbrook's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Trent, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
