Haddam-Killingworth were mostly on par with one another in their contest last week, but the latter proved to be slightly out of Nonnewaug's league and delivered Nonnewaug a 35 - 21 defeat.
Despite Nonnewaug's defeat, the squad still enjoyed a top-notch performance from junior Jarrett Michaels, who ran for 105 yards and also punched in one touchdown.
Nonnewaug's record fell to 1-5 after the loss. Haddam-Killingworth is now evened up at 3-3.
Both teams are aiming to improve upon those records in their upcoming games. Nonnewaug will battle it out against Canton on Saturday at 12:00 PM. As for Haddam-Killingworth, it will square off against North Branford this Friday at 6:30 PM.
