The Muhlenberg Muhls will venture away from home to take on the Exeter Township Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Muhlenberg 3.8, Exeter Township 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, Muhlenberg didn't have quite enough to beat Daniel Boone and fell 5-4.
Cole Moody was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Lincoln High, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Exeter Township put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Reading. The Eagles put the hurt on the Red KNights with a sharp 10-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.
Exeter Township also got a great performance from Kamren Martin as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Jake Franek was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Carter Redding was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Exeter Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reading only posted a batting average of .000.
Exeter Township's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2. As for Muhlenberg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Everything went Muhlenberg's way against Exeter Township in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Muhlenberg made off with an 11-3 win. Will the Muhls repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
