Baseball Game Preview: Colusa RedHawks vs. Willows Honkers

For the second straight game, Colusa will face off against Willows. The RedHawks will welcome the Honkers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Colusa has three straight victories, Willows has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Colusa gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Willows.

Lucas Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Adan Travis was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Kane Nall was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Willows' defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Colusa, their victory bumped their record up to 3-15.

Colusa's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The RedHawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Willows, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Colusa continue to outrun the ball?
