Volleyball Recap: Carlvin Valdez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Valley over Temescal Canyon

West Valley lost against Temescal Canyon back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Titans. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Valley couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Temescal Canyon a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 31-33, 25-18, 25-16.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlvin Valdez, who had 35 assists and 14 digs. Valdez has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more assists the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Allievi, who had 12 digs and 11 kills.

West Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Temescal Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Elsinore at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Temescal Canyon will take on rival San Jacinto at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
