The biggest upset of the week belonged to Midview, who took down 83rd ranked Midview, 28-0.
Lakewood moved up to 384 from 443 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Shore. The Rangers were able to make the jump by beating Bay 24-8.
The Rockets' dynamic duo of Jake Best and Pat Hoke proved tough for Lakewood to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Best threw for 95 yards and one touchdown and Hoke had 35 yards receiving. Luke Rohlke helped Bay's passing attack out by catching two balls for 24 yards.
Martin Finnegan was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 163 yards as Rocky River fell to Ron Lewis' team. Teammate Matt Lowry added to the ground attack by rushing for 79 yards.
The Middies' Cody Callaway and Eric Lauer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Callaway has thrown for 1441 yards this season, while Lauer, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 28 catches for 610 yards. The Pirates' Finnegan leads the league in rushing yards with 675.
A big matchup in West Shore this week will be when the Rangers take on Midview. As it stands, Lakewood is in fifth, while Bill Albright's team is in first.
Avon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Middies, 28-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Eagles.
