Softball Recap: Perry Meridian Victorious

Perry Meridian was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Lebanon Tigers by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Aaliyah Chesser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Adriana Chesser was a standout: she scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Kennedy Simpson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Perry Meridian's record now sits at 2-3. As for Lebanon, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, Perry Meridian will take on Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Lebanon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Mississinewa on the 12th.
