Basketball Recap: Lanier County Comes Up Short

Lanier County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Irwin County Indians 70-41. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 57-56.

Sam Guy was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 11 points, 15 boards, and 11 blocks for Irwin County. Guy is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kinyan Lewis, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Lanier County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Irwin County, they pushed their record up to 11-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Lanier County nor Irwin County have any future games scheduled.
