Baseball Recap: Fremont Eagles vs. Central Noble Cougars
Fremont had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it six. They lost 10-1 to the Central Noble Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Fremont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Rodriguez has brought in this season.
As for Central Noble, the win got them back to even at 2-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.
On Central Noble's side, Corbin Douglas was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. In other batting news, Brady Kunkle and Treyton Fletcher did most of the damage at the plate: Kunkle went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI, while Fletcher went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Fletcher has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Parker Boots, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Fremont will welcome Fort Wayne Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Central Noble, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
