Softball Recap: Prairie Ridge Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

Prairie Ridge waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They didn't even let the Central Rockets on the board, marking their second-straight 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 back in April.

Prairie Ridge pushed their record up to 21-1-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Prairie Ridge will face off against rival Crystal Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolves 1.8, the Tigers 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Huntley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
