Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Sunrise Mountain on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 9-1 to the Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Tuesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 6-11-2. As for Sunrise Mountain, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Centennial is set to square off against their familiar foe Ironwood at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain will face off against rival Lake Havasu at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.5, the Knights 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
