Basketball Recap: South Summit Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

South Summit won the last time they faced Union, and Logan Woolstenhulme did his part to make sure it happened again. The South Summit Wildcats walked away with a 70-57 victory over the Union Cougars on Wednesday thanks in part to Woolstenhulme, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South Summit's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Reber, who posted seven points along with six boards and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (two).

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wayke Olsen, who had 12 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brady Bell, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and five boards.

South Summit is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

South Summit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-56 win against Ben Lomond on the 24th. As for Union, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-49 victory against Grantsville on the 24th.
