Soccer Game Preview: Manor vs. McNeil

The Manor Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the McNeil Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Manor is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Vista Ridge on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Rangers, falling 5-2. Manor haven't had much luck with Vista Ridge recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, McNeil hasn't lost a match since January 13th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cedar Ridge by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering McNeil's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Cedar Ridge are ranked 438th).

McNeil has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-2 record this season. As for Manor, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.

Manor suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to McNeil in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
