Lincoln East faced Millard South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Patriots. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Troy Peltz and Carter Harmes did most of the damage at the plate: Peltz went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Harmes went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave Harmes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brodie McIntire, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln East's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Millard South, they moved to 11-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln East will take on rival Papillion-LaVista on the 21st. Meanwhile, Millard South is set to challenge their familiar foe Lincoln Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
