Football Recap: Poston Butte Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Poston Butte kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 41-8 loss at the hands of the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts. The Broncos lost against the Thunderbolts in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 17-8 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Poston Butte lost, don't look at Easton Filetti. Despite the final result, he rushed for 105 yards and one touchdown.

Jaidyn Crist was a one-man wrecking crew For Mica Mountain. as he threw for 207 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Crist a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Poston Butte will welcome Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Mica Mountain, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Canyon del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
