Soccer Game Preview: Harker Heights vs. Temple

The Harker Heights Knights will face off against the Temple Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Harker Heights' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Temple has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Temple better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Harker Heights really gets things going. Harker Heights never let Shoemaker get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Temple's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Copperas Cove by a score of 1-0.

Harker Heights has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those seven contests. Temple's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Harker Heights skirted past Temple 1-0 when the teams last played back in February. Will Harker Heights repeat their success, or does Temple have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
