Preview: Quanah Indians vs. Shamrock Irish
Quanah has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Shamrock Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Quanah comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Quanah fell victim to Clarendon's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Broncos at home and fell 40-0.
Meanwhile, Shamrock might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Wheeler who claimed the real prize. Shamrock took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheeler. Shamrock has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Philip Cook, who threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Braxton Allen also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Quanah to 1-6 and Shamrock to 3-4.
Quanah took a serious blow against Shamrock in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 49-6. Thankfully for Quanah, Caden Peevey (who rushed for 253 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
