Lincoln-Way Central came into Friday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Sandburg Eagles 4-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 2nd.

Jenna Lee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hope Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Fiona Fares also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Lincoln-Way Central's record is now 5-24. As for Sandburg, their record now sits at 14-13.

Coming up, Lincoln-Way Central will face off against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Boilermakers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
