Basketball Game Preview: Yreka Miners vs. Las Plumas Thunderbirds

The Yreka Miners will face off against the Las Plumas Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Yreka turned things around against Central Valley on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 victory over the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Las Plumas entered their tilt with St. Helena on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 45-41 win over the Saints.

Las Plumas' win came from a few key players Yreka will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was T.J. Thompson, who posted 17 points. Noeh Morrison was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-9. As for Las Plumas, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
