Baseball Game Preview: Schuylerville Horses vs. Hudson Falls Tigers

For the second straight game, Schuylerville will face off against Hudson Falls. The Horses will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Schuylerville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Schuylerville had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Hudson Falls on Wednesday. The Horses were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Horses have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Palmer was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Renner was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Jackson Dunbar was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Schuylerville's victory bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for Hudson Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
