Recap: Bard vs. Clinton School
After flying high against People's Prep last Friday, Bard came back down to earth. Bard took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clinton School. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bard in their matchups with Clinton School: they've now lost five in a row.
Clinton School was led to victory by Kate Stanley and Sofia Tokarczyk. Stanley scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, while Tokarczyk dropped a double-double on ten points and 21 rebounds. Tokarczyk is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kate Thaler, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds.
Bard's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9. As for Clinton School, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.
Bard won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Baruch College at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th. Baruch College presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bard in New York (Baruch College is ranked 189th, while Bard is ranked 421st). As for Clinton School, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lab Museum United at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th.
