Basketball Recap: Northeastern Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jayden Alexander and Tyell Saunders

If Northeastern was feeling good fresh off their 77-45 takedown of Currituck County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northeastern Eagles fell 78-67 to the King's Fork Bulldogs on Saturday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Tyell Saunders and Jayden Alexander certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Saunders posted 33 points, while Alexander scored 17 points. The dominant performance gave Alexander a new career-high in points.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for King's Fork, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
