Softball Recap: Jennings' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Jennings was the 6-4 winner over Oakdale when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Wednesday.

Kylie Price was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Daigle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Emma Venable, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Jennings' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Oakdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season.

Jennings will head out on the road to square off against Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.76 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oakdale, they will take on Logansport at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
