Basketball Recap: Milwaukee Riverside Comes Up Short

Milwaukee Riverside lost against Milwaukee School of Languages back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Milwaukee Riverside Tigers lost to the Milwaukee School of Languages Hawks at home by a 69-55 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Hawks are ranked 144th).

Milwaukee School of Languages had a senior duo take command as Manning Shareef dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds and Aj,(Amaris) Hunt almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. The game was Shareef's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Williamson, who went 6 for 15 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Milwaukee Riverside's loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Milwaukee School of Languages, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Milwaukee Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 92-84 defeat against Messmer on the 25th. As for Milwaukee School of Languages, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-35 win against Milwaukee Vincent on the 28th.
