Softball Recap: San Clemente Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

San Clemente owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Trabuco Hills Mustangs with a sharp 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tritons, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Emily Racine made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Peyton Stokes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Puka Iosua was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

San Clemente is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Trabuco Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

San Clemente will challenge San Juan Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trabuco Hills will be paying especially close attention to the Tritons' game: after the Tritons face off against the Stallions, they'll take on Trabuco Hills again at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
