Football Game Preview: Manning Monarchs vs. Hampton County Hurricanes

The Manning Monarchs will welcome the Hampton County Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manning is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Manning is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Timberland as they made off with a 46-24 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Monarchs just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, Hampton County didn't have too much trouble with Cheraw on Friday as they won 28-10.

Hampton County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Jaylen Singletary and Tarell Grant, who each picked up one interception apiece. Jayden Frazier was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, forcing one fumble, and making two total tackles.

Manning's record now sits at 9-3. As for Hampton County, their record is now an identical 9-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Manning has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 227.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hampton County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 292.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Manning won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, slipping by Hampton County 28-27. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
