Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Edgerton's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

Edgerton hadn't done well against Eastside recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Blazers. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blazers, too.

Braden Leppelmeier was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Noah Weaver was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Edgerton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Edgerton has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Eastside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Edgerton will face off against Hicksville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastside, they will take on Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
