Football Game Preview: South Platte vs. Minatare

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps national rankings, South Platte should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They have had some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next contest, which is against Minatare at 7:00 PM. South Platte will be looking to avenge the 31-62 loss they took the last time these two teams played.

There's no need to mince words: South Platte lost to Hay Springs two weeks ago, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 8-45. South Platte were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 8-38.

Last week, Minatare put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. Everything went their way against Cody-Kilgore as they made off with a 61-34 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-6.

Minatare's victory lifted them to 3-0 while South Platte's defeat dropped them down to 1-2. In their victory, Minatare relied heavily on junior Kaleb Gonzales, who rushed for 153 yards and 4 touchdowns. South Platte will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
