Softball Recap: North Ridgeville Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Ridgeville had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers as they made off with a 13-0 win. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Naomi Bottomlee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabby Thibodeaux, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Pasenow, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

North Ridgeville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.

As of now, neither North Ridgeville nor the Black Tigers have any future games scheduled.
