Baseball Game Preview: South Holt Knights vs. North Platte Panthers

The South Holt Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the North Platte Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Holt will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, South Holt was able to grind out a solid win over Albany, taking the game 9-5.

The team relied heavily on Tayte Prussman, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayes Weller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Holt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Albany only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, North Platte lost 10-3 to Rock Port on Monday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Holt's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for North Platte, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

South Holt suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to North Platte in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
