Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones

Lincoln has gone 8-2 against Sacred Heart-Griffin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lincoln Railsplitters just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Lincoln is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since February 16, 2024 on Monday. They put the hurt on Bloomington with a sharp 54-28 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-9.

Frank Sanders had an outrageously good game as he went 9 for 11 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Karson Komnick was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart-Griffin didn't have too much trouble with Jacksonville on Friday as they won 73-58. Given the Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Crimsons are ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Sacred Heart-Griffin and bumps their season record up to 13-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8.

Lincoln took their win against Sacred Heart-Griffin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 56-35. Does Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sacred Heart-Griffin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
