The biggest upset of the week belonged to Paradise, who took down 85th ranked Paradise, 36-35. Daniel Robbins threw for 288 yards and five touchdowns in the win.
Chico moved up to 138 from 254 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Eastern. The Panthers were able to make the jump by besting the Bobcats 36-35.
Jonathon Dixon was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 169 yards on 24 carries as Paradise topped Pleasant Valley. Tyler Burrows also contributed to the rushing game with 98 yards on the ground.
Chico's Robbins and Jesse Holmes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Robbins has thrown for 1880 yards this season, while Holmes has 46 catches for 876 yards. Red Bluff's Tucker Gulliford leads the league in rushing yards with 683.
The top two teams in Eastern will face off this week when first place Shasta takes on second place Paradise. Last week, the Wolves topped the Vikings, while Rick Prinz's team fell to Jason Alvistur's team.
The Panthers' Robbins is within 120 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Foothill.
Shasta was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Aaron Gingery's team beat Pleasant Valley 35-30 earlier in the week.
