Volleyball Recap: Bear Creek Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bear Creek can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the West Park Panthers on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bruins have suffered since March 12th.

Bear Creek was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.

Joell Chet paced Bear Creek's offense, picking up seven kills. Chet got some help from Jordan nguyen and his 17 assists. Finally, Aaron Curry kept Bear Creek's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Vince Sison, who had 14 digs. That's the most digs he has posted since April 3rd.

Bear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for West Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Bear Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Park, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Rocklin on the 2nd.
