Basketball Recap: Chris Anthony Delvalle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Logansport over Western

Logansport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Berries can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Panthers are ranked 108th).

Several Berries players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Anthony Delvalle, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Clem, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Carter Biggs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Western, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Biggs a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Mast, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points.

Logansport's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Western, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Logansport will face off against McCutcheon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Logansport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Western, they will square off against Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
