Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitmer). Everything went their way against the Northview Wildcats on Tuesday as the Whitmer Panthers made off with an 88-66 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Wildcats are ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Whitmer's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Northview, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Whitmer Panthers take on the Southview Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Southview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Northview has already played their next match (against Clay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
