Basketball Recap: Lincoln College Prep Finds Home Court Redemption Against Belton

There's no place like home for Lincoln College Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Belton Pirates by a score of 67-60 on Friday. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but the Blue Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Despite the loss, Belton had strong showings from Jayce Maiden, who went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds, and Cooper Shrum, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Campbell, who scored eight points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Lincoln College Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Belton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Lincoln College Prep and Belton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Lincoln College Prep (ranked 194th) will meet Southeast (ranked 464th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Belton will challenge Chrisman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 244 places (216 vs. 460).
